WHO WE ARE larkin shot

The Santa Cruz Quakes/Cagers is a non-profit AAU girls and boys basketball organization. We began providing opportunities for talented and motivated girls by fielding 2 teams in 1997. In 2018, we added the Cagers to compete in the boys divisions. In 2011, the Quakes fielded 5 teams for players in the 5th through 12th grade. Quakes teams enjoyed a lot of success in 2011, including tournament championships in the Pacific District Regional Tournament.  The Quakes/Cagers play in the Pacific District AAU Association Spring Tournament Series from the end of March through the middle of May.

Valuable exposure to a variety of coaches and players. Opportunity to play against the best players throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada. Playing with girls from other teams in your school league, which fosters a sense of sportsmanship that can carry over into school league play. Fun and camaraderie that comes from the traveling team experience.

Quakes AAU basketball involves 2 to 3 practices a week before the tournaments start and 1 to 2 practices a week during the tournament season. Tournaments consist of 2 games on Saturday and 1 game on Sunday and may require an overnight stay. The Quakes typically play tournaments in the Bay Area, Petaluma, and Sacramento. Parents are responsible for lodging, meals and transportation to and from tournaments. The Quakes player fee is $595.00 plus $12 (Renewal) or $14 (New AAU membership). This is one of the lowest player fees in the Pacific District. All Quakes Teams play in 6 tournaments, including one hosted in Santa Cruz by our organization. Players must purchase their own uniforms through the Quakes. Uniform costs are typically between $100.00 and $150.00.

It is the goal of the Quakes to instill in its players a sense of responsibility, commitment, team work, and fair play. All proceeds from the SLAM Tournament go back to the organization to keep player costs as low as possible. We are constantly trying to improve our club as it grows to meet the needs of local girls who want to have a great experience while playing highly competitive basketball.

All players are required to have an AAU club card. Click here to purchase required AAU Card. The Quakes Club Code for 2019 -WY8YE9
